Over the past few years, in true basic girl fashion, I have become a lover of wine. I do not like beer and I’m not trying to drink hard liquor every time I want a drink, so wine is the perfect go-to for me. Plus, I love wineries. Not just for the wine, but for the scenery and atmosphere. But let’s be honest, you can’t completely enjoy a winery without tasting the wines!
After several years of sticking to sweet wines like moscato and riesling, I have grown to love chardonnay. Specifically “oaky” (or buttery, as some might say) chardonnays. When we moved into our house in 2016, we were lucky enough to move in next to a wonderful couple (Tim and Kelly) that also loves wine, and even luckier, specifically chardonnay. They have become like family to us and I love enjoying a glass (or bottle) of wine with them since my husband doesn’t drink wine.
Tim and Kelly have also shown me what good chardonnay is, and I am so thankful for that! I am not a wine connoisseur by any means, though. Not even close. I still have a LOT to learn, but I love learning more about wine when I can!
I have a few go-to chardonnays that I love, all at different price points. Most of these are very oaky, so if you are looking for one to try, I hope this list helps!
